Doug is a Member in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice and Immigration Practice. On the corporate side, he focuses on private offerings and related securities work. Doug serves as counsel to developers and businesses seeking capital through the EB-5 investor visa program. He also counsels lenders, private equity firms and EB-5 Regional Centers on EB-5 compliance issues. In the immigration law space, Doug represents corporate, institutional and individual clients in routine and complex immigration matters. He has in-depth experience advising companies on the immigration consequences of corporate restructuring. Doug regularly speaks about immigration issues at legal organizations, universities, and industry forums. He is a member of board of trustees of the American Immigration Council.
Allan is a Member in the Boston office. His experience includes all aspects of residential and commercial real estate, including acquisitions and sales, finance, development, construction, and leasing. He represents local, regional, and national developers, lenders, investors, landlords and tenants in a broad variety of real estate transactions.
Paul is Managing Member of the San Francisco office. His practice focuses on acquisition, development, leasing, disposition, secured financing, restructuring work, and other real estate matters. He has also served as counsel to pension fund advisors, financial institutions, and developers in connection with origination and restructuring of loans secured by real estate.
Senator William “Mo” Cowan is Of Counsel to Mintz Levin and Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ML Strategies, the firm’s government relations and business advisory affiliate. Prior to rejoining Mintz Levin, where he practiced from 1997-2009, Senator Cowan represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as interim United States Senator, filling the vacancy created when John F. Kerry was appointed United States Secretary of State. Immediately prior to his Senate service, Senator Cowan served in the following leadership positions for Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick: Chief Legal Counsel (2009-2011), Chief of Staff (2011-2013) and Senior Advisor (2013).
During his term as Senator, Mo served as a member of the Senate Agriculture, Commerce, and Small Business Committees. He also chaired the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Specialty Crops, Food and Agricultural Research, and was appointed by Governor Patrick to co-chair the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Military Asset and Security Strategy Task Force.
Meryl is a Member in the Boston Office. She concentrates her practice on debt financings, secured transactions, and real estate finance. She has extensive experience representing borrowers in domestic and international debt financings, including acquisition financings, senior and subordinate debt financings, asset based financings, and loan syndications. Meryl frequently represents private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in all aspects of acquisition and working capital loan transactions including debt and subordination arrangements with sellers.
Adam is a Member in the firm and is based in the New York office. He co-chairs the firm’s Investment Funds Practice. He also represents PE firms, developers and other businesses seeking capital through the EB-5 investor visa program, forming and structuring the entities involved in the offering, and providing counsel on compliance issues and the entire EB-5 offering process.
Steve is an Of Counsel in the firm and is based the Boston office. Steve focuses his practice on financial services law and is globally recognized for his knowledge of anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations. He handles regulatory matters for institutions and high-level financial services executives. Steve has represented firms as outside counsel, a compliance officer, or in-house counsel before all major US financial services regulators.
Wynter is an Associate in the San Diego office. She is a seasoned trial lawyer whose practice encompasses a wide range of litigation matters including commercial litigation, government contracts, fiduciary duties, corporate compliance and internal investigations.
Jeff is the head of the Real Estate and Communications practices in New York. A general commercial real estate attorney for almost 30 years, his clients include large national companies, particularly in the high-tech, telecommunications, financial services, health care, supermarket, and oil and gas sectors as well as numerous smaller local clients.
A frequent speaker on real estate topics, Jeff also writes a monthly column called Leasing on the Level, covering leasing topics in Real Estate Weekly. He is a member of the board of advisors and regular contributor to Commercial Lease Law Insider, Commercial Tenant’s Lease Insider, and Communications Environmental and Land Use Law Report. In addition, he frequently contributes to Mortgage and Real Estate Executives Report and is regularly quoted in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Commercial Property News, Real Estate Weekly, and other publications.
Cassie is an Associate in the Boston office. Her experience in immigration legal matters includes having served in internships for the Boston Immigration Court and the Loyola University Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice.
Gabriel is a Member in the firm’s San Francisco office. He works with commercial real estate, health care, technology, and energy clients in the acquisition, leasing, sale, and development of properties, and has assisted commercial lenders in the financing of office and multifamily projects.
Adam is a Member in the firm and is based in the Boston office. He chairs the firm’s Israel Business Group. His practice encompasses a range of litigation matters, with an emphasis on securities-related issues, and includes significant federal and state court trial experience. He represents corporations, officers, directors, accountants, and other individuals in SEC investigations and enforcement proceedings as well as in civil litigation.
